V'Makelta Vornak tr’Hiraken

Age: 159

Height: 6’ 3”

Weight: 297 lb.

Hair: Jet black, standard military cut

Eyes: dark brown

Personality: Reserved, silent, and unobtrusive, Vornak’s key to success is based on his foes’ most common mistake: underestimating him. He blends into the background excellently, and, as such, he is the perfect undercover operative. He revels in victory, but does not wallow in defeat, instead he chooses to learn from all his mistakes. Because of this philosophy and his years of experience He has become one of the best operatives in the Tal’Shiar.

History: Vornak was born in the year 2217 on board the Bird of Prey Emerald Falcon. The Starship had been on patrol in a remote  Sector, which had just recently been annexed into the Empire and was yet to be colonized. A short time after he was born, the Falcon came under attack by a vessel of unknown origins. It was rather small and pyramidal in shape, but still slightly more powerful than the old Bird of Prey. It had been too fast to be affected by the Plasma Torpedo weapon, and therefore, had destroyed the Bird of Prey, coming away without so much as a scratch. Vornak was found a few days later, drifting in a shuttle, weak and malnourished. The ship that discovered him was the IRV Swift Death, the Flagship of the Tal’Shiar fleet. Vornak was taken in by the Head Interrogator on the ship and raised within the Tal’Shiar. Since his House was not known, he was adopted into the House Hiraken and his birth House assumed he went down with the Falcon, which was found a few weeks after Vornak. His adopted Father, Teakan tr’Hiraken, was one of the most skilled interrogators in the Empire and Vornak was raised to be an expert in the field. In 2240, he entered the Tal’Shiar Officer Training camp on the planet Ahroun IV. He completed his training in 2244 with flying colors, thanks to his early training with his Father, and was assigned to Ahroun VII as a Peacekeeper. In 2250 He was promoted and reassigned to investigate some suspected spies living on the planet Tiber III. He rose through the ranks, and by the year 2330, was in charge of a small task force assigned to the Mind War Division. In 2339, he took an undercover assignment to infiltrate the Klingon Empire, where he remained, liberating information and technology until the Klingons cracked down on their internal security in 2347, when he was pulled out and sent to monitor the Cardassian Union. The security there was far more formidable and he could only remain until 2350. He then returned to the Empire and took command of another task force, this one assigned to the R&D Division. He took an extended personal leave in 2361 and, after a lengthy investigation of his own, discovered the circumastances of his birth. However, he was still unable to find his original house and decided to simply return to his work. He commanded the R&D task force until 2361when he was sent on a deep cover assignment into the Cardassian Union. After this he infiltrated the Ferengi Alliance, the Tal'Shiar sticking to the policy of never underestimating anyone. He managed to avert a fair number of deals that would have been detrimental to the security of the Star Empire over the next ten years, but was recalled in 2371 to take command of a destroyer for the Preemptive strike against the Dominion. In the ambush at the Oomarian Nebula, Vornak was one of the few survivors and spent the next four years in Dominion Internment Camp 371. In 2375, however, the remaining prisoners, nearly all Tal'Shiar, revolted, vaporized Deyos, the Vorta in charge, and annihilated the Jem'Hadar serving there. They stole the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship stationed there and attempted to return to the Empire, but found that the wormhole was impassable. A large fleet of Dominion ships was waiting to enter, so they hid in a nebula within sensor range. They waited some time after the fleet  went through the wormhole and then went through themselves, surprised to find the station guarding the wormhole back in Federation hands, having assumed that it would not be able to stand up to a fleet the size of which they had seen cross through the wormhole. They did not have time to contemplate the matter, however, as a veritable fleet of Klingon vessels conducted them on a not so merry chase across the sector. They eluded the klingons in the badlands and returned to the Empire to help rebuild the Tal'Shiar. After the end of the war, Vornak learned of a new threat to the Empire. A violent race called the Askasha'siiv was threatening the coreward borders on the most uncharted side of the empire, away from the Federation. As soon as he heard the description of their vessels his mind flashed to the circumstancesof the destruction of the IRV Emerald Falcon and he requested a posting on the Flagship of the Ninth Fleet, even though it would be lowering his position from a Fleet Commander to a mere Naval Liaison. The Minister was reluctant to assign him there, but he was adamant and his request was granted. Shortly after, however, he was pulled from the ninth fleet to help crew a warbird in the Federation's Raeyan Sector at Starbase Bravo.
